I was just watching “Cold Case” and it just made me to come here and write – I tried to write also in my Finnish blog, but I ended up with just copying from my old blog from www.adfox.com…
Now I am trying to get something written while eying at the same time on my JC Levinson ‘s “Guerilla Marketing” book thats on my desk here at home – I have been reading it for some time and already it has once again been proved to me, that no matter how long I have done marketing and read about it – it is always a good idea to read more. Jay Conrad Levinson is one of the most respected and experienced professional what comes to Guerilla marketing and I still need to remind me of the cold facts of reality that not every time I say the words “guerilla marketing”, people understand what I am saying – in fact, there has been occasions when entrepeneurs have looked at me with a stare and a big question mark in their eyes!
Its about the summer vacation season
Yes, I know – people tend to think that Finland closes down for the July- and in many ways and portions thats true – but for me July is 50% work and 50% something like a vacation – try to catch a ferry to both Estonia and Sweden with my kid, and try to put work issues aside for some times or for some hours atleast. There should be somewhat quieter for me during July, but I cant say it yet, as our latest version of b-to-b publication Läntisen Uudenmaan Yrityssanomat just hit the local businesses today – and I sure hope that it will generate some projects, even already for the July season.
Even I wanted to write more, one of my cats just came to me and she reminded me of “local” work to be done – off I am….

I opened today my new web site at www.ertuki.fi which in fact is a spin off from my old company Advertising Service AdFox Oy (www.adfox.com)
The ER-tuki pages differ like 200% from the old AdFox site although the work and projects remain the same but I could not publish the same information at AdFox site due to the fact that AdFox is more in b-to-b printed materials and local business publications and ER-tuki is solely with IT.
You want to hear where that ER-tuki name comes from? Well, since February 2000 I have been working (selling, consulting, training, admin) with a software called eRoom.
It started with eRoom Technology which was bought by Documentum Inc which was then bought by EMC Corporations and now the product is EMC eRoom and I am still working with the product – in support and consulting so that’s the reason for naming my new company as ER-tuki (tuki means support).
We will be also working with web sites, wed development, web marketing, actually what ever goes with Internet and social media…
In ER-tuki I have now started to collect interesting links (which I have not done since the late90s), and the links will be found at www.ertuki.fi/en/links.htm

Ok,
Still couple of hours to work and then its time time close the “shop” as every one is leaving for their Midsummer vacation… me too…
In Finland the Midsummer or as we say “Juhannus” has a lot to do with our culture and current behavior and depending where you live and travel in Finland during the coming weekend, you may meet people that are totally different than what they normally would be… me on the other hand, will remain about the same as we do not travel anywhere this Midsummer – barbeque, sparkling wine or beer, hopefully sun and 3-4 days free – thats all I need now.
But before I can leader, I need to get our latest magazine out to printer (www.lu-yrityssanomat.fi), its totally in Finnish, so if you visit those pages, you will not find anything in English, sorry…. the paper will be delivered during next week to all the local businesses in our area and hopefully it will serve and help us to continue doing our work at AdFox also in future and in Autumn 2009.

Ok, blogging is in but do I really have the time to write in as many places as there to write…
Yes, someone might say and think that if thats what bothering you, you will be fine – but it actually is only one of those many things that go round and round in my head.
When I started my company AdFox back in 1989, noone knew or could imagine the current day, the routines with email, blogs, wikis, websites, mobile phone we have…. yet we were able to work and socialize.
I think that if I find time to write- I will write about marketing and about Finland… but we will see whether I will find the time and energy write – I do already write to my home site in Finnish…
