1. Main Menu

In the settings menu you want to display on the homepage (front page), Mambo has been prepared with cooked. The Menu is divided into several sections, among them: the main menu (main menu), the other menu (other menu items), the menu (top menu), and the user menu (user menu). Although the Mambo had arranged and set menus, but you can also create own menu or change the name of the menu with other names as you want.

Main Menu (mainmenu) generally are on the left or the right, depending on which Template is used. You can set the sub menu and sub-sub menu. The main menu items are generally contains: Home, News, Links, and Contact Us. But you can change it at any time.

In the last article explained how to insert content (content) according to section and category. Although the content has been created, there will automatically appear on the main page of your site. To display content-content that needs to be a tool to bolster the Menu Manager that acts as a connecting bridge between the content with the menu.

So in essence, the Menu Manager works to linking (link) a content in the content or a specific category. For instance, the main menu can be either Component, Blog, record of, nor the Content. The main menu items can be created if there is already content that would be shown, because the Menu Manager only manages the link to one of the content. 1.1. Creating links Content Item

We think You’ve made some content and category, then you can just add a menu item on the main page.

  1. First, go to the menu of the Administrator by writing the address: //localhost/graphics/ administrator and press Enter or menu you can click Administrator on the menu.
  2. After you enter the Administrator menu, enter your User and Password. Remember the password given to Mambo when you install it. User and Password that are now used.
  3. If the user name and Password in the enter is correct, then You can go to the Administration page of the Mambo.
  4. Suppose we would put a content about Adobe Photoshop Tutorial in the main menu. Select menu Menu > main menu.
  5. All menu items that appear will be shown a menu item in the main menu. You can specify what menu items you want to display by clicking a selection Published. Menu items that are not shown marked with a cross while the displayed menu item marked with a tick.
  6. Because these items are not required, should be removed so as not to complicate when creating menu items. To remove a menu item, click the small box (check box) on the front of the name of the menu item.
  7. Once marked with a check mark, click the Trash button on the right top to remove the sub menu.
  8. It is no longer a menu item on the main menu (main menu). Now you can create a new menu item that you want.
  9. Click the button New to create a new item.
  10. After clicking on the button New, it will pop up a dialog box of the New Menu items that contain some of the group (the Group) that consists of a Component, Content, Links, and Miscellaneous. Your Content and Link Group functions almost the same, both can link (link) to a content or a specific component. Select the Link Content items on group Content.
  11. Click the Next button to select the content that will be the menu item.
  12. After you click the Next button, it will pop up the Add Menu Items dialog box. Enter the title of the item in the box Name, e.g. Digital Painting.
  13. Specify the link to the content in question, for example Tutorials – graphic design/Digital Painting with Photoshop CS.
  14. Arrange option when clicking the menu item, would open a new window (Windows) or still follow the main windows.
  15. Next, you can specify user access levels to see that article.
  16. When you are finished click the Save button to save it. On the main menu will appear a new item under the name of Digital Painting.
  17. To see the result on the browser, select menu Site > > Preview In New Window.
  18. A new menu item will appear, complete with content that is linked.
  19. You can create a new menu item to display other content such as: Programmer with PHP, building LANs and WANs, and Choosing a stable Browser. Here’s how: follow step 9. After you have successfully created a couple of new items, then on the main page would appear to be some new items.

1.2. Create a Blog-Content Section

In addition to displaying the content per item (title), Mambo is also capable of displaying the whole content in a category (Category) and Section (section). For example, in the Category of graphic design there are 5 title items namely: Digital Painting with Photoshop CS, creating logos with Freehand, CorelDraw Tricks for beginners, Adobe Illustrator, and animation with Flash MX. When you create the menu items, you can call the titles with a single command and displays the entire content. You can also print the content in a particular Section. Because of the level of Section higher than Category, then the entire content in Category will participate also displayed.

  1. First, select the menu mainmenu > Menu to create menu items.
  2. After you sign in to the page, click the button New mainmenu to create a Blog-Content Section.
  3. Once on the page of New Menu Items, click the Blog-Content Section.
  4. Enter the name of the menu items to be displayed, for example: Tips and tricks.
  5. In the Options Section, specify the name of the Section will be displayed.
  6. Select the Top, at the option of the Parent Items.
  7. Specify user access rights as well to see that article.
  8. Set the Parameters tab On some specifications.
  • Menu Image : the image that will be shown in the menu item.
  • Page Class Suffix : to make a certain style in css.
  • Back Button : the back button.
  • Page Title : display the title that will be placed at the top of the page.
  • Leading : number of items (the title) to be displayed as the main title. If you enter numbers 0 (zero), then the items will be displayed as the main title and its contents are displayed in full.
  • Intro : the opening sentence (Intro) to the title aka displayed.
  • Column : the number of columns for the title that will be displayed on the main page.
  • Links : the number of items that are displayed as Links.
  • Category Order : order items according to Category.
  • Primary Order : the order of items in the Category are displayed on a particular option.
  • Pagination : supports automatic page numbering to be shown/hidden page
  • Pagination Results : display results throughout the page number (example: page 1 of 5)
  • MOS Image : sets the appearance of the {mosimage}
  • Description : show/hide description
  • Image Description : show/hide pictures on deskrispi.
  • Category Name : show/hide the name of the Category
  • Category Name Linkable : show/hide links in the same Category.
  • Item Title : show/hide the titles of items
  • Linkable Title : set the title of the related having links in one section.
  1. When you are finished, click the Save button to save the changes made. On the page Menu Manager (mainmenu), a new menu item will appear.
  2. To see the results, select the menu Site > Preview > In New Window then it will appear a menu item with a Tip and trick blog content of the Section.
