Social Media Marketing 101

My article on Social Media Marketing from two days ago was so well received, maybe I’ll do a series on it. Today we’ll go back to the beginning and start with Social Media Marketing 101.

If you’ve been looking for a way to take your business to the next level, social media marketing may be what you are looking for. It is a way to connect with your customers and clients in a technologically savvy world and still maintain the ease and simplicity of use that you are looking for.

1 – Tailor your posts to your target audience’s experiences. You should write about things your customers and followers can relate to or they will not share your content with their friends. Take the time to read the status updates your customers are posting, and identify recurring themes and issues you could mention in your own posts.

2 – Keep your Facebook page or profile up to date with your most recent blog posts. As soon as your blog is published, update your Facebook page to reflect the new post. This allows your followers to access your fresh content as soon as possible. The sooner your content is available to others, the sooner it works for you to attract new visitors.

3 – Choose the snippet you post to Facebook about fresh content carefully. You want to create an interesting headline or sentence or two about the new content. When what you post is alluring, it generates more followers. It does this because those who already follow you or have “liked” you on Facebook will be more inclined to share your link with their friends.

4 – Make sure Twitter is included in your Facebook menu. Facebook’s settings on your fan page sets this up as a standard settings, so it does not take much effort on your part. Plus, it gives your followers yet another way to stay connected to your website or blog. The more options you give for customers and / or followers to stay connected, the more involved they will be and the more likely they’ll visit your site and share your link with others.

5 – Use Facebook to run a special promotion or a competition. Everyone loves winning something, so your followers are sure to get involved. Whether you offer a free product, a special high-amount coupon or a big or small prize, it will get people more actively involved with your Facebook page. It also builds goodwill with your customer base.

6 – You can measure the success of your social media marketing by the sentiment and number of comments you receive about your posts. You need to pay attention to the comments because your followers will tell you if you are posting relevant information. If they are mostly positive, then keep up the good work. If they are negative (or you’re not getting any feedback at all), try tweaking your posts for a more positive sentiment.

7 – Provide unique content by setting your landing page up as a reveal tab in Facebook. You can include content like a special video that your followers may find interesting, or you can do something like provide a special coupon or voucher that is redeemable on your website. Unique and engaging content keeps followers interested in what you post, and it keeps them coming back to both your Facebook page and your website.

Social Media Sites

This article has shown you a lot of ways that you can start to move your business forward using social media marketing. Social media is the newest way that people are staying connected with one another. Businesses are quickly jumping on board too. You need to be one of those businesses… and make sure you’re using Google+ | Google Plus in your social media marketing mix, it is now the second largest social networking site in the world… knocking Twitter out of the #2 spot back in January 2013.

Until next time, all the best…

Personal Development – Get Creative Become An Innovator

Creativity and Innovation

What Innovation Can Do to Your Life…

It’s a talent that everyone has, yet they think they don’t. The power of innovation. If you’ve ever marveled at somebody’s creative prowess, guess what, you can create and innovate too. It just takes time. Everyone is born creative. The box of crayons in kindergarten were not limited to those who possessed potential; because the truth is, everybody has potential.

You know how long it took to learn to ride a bike or drive or to never commit the same mistake again? It’s the same with innovation. It takes a bit of practice and a lot of time before this mind function comes easily when called. This article will teach you a few tips on how to bring innovation into your life.

Don’t listen to what other people say. Follow the beat of your own drum. Allowing for the input of other people will only bring cacophony to the music you are trying to make. If you have an original idea, don’t waste your time and effort trying to make people understand. They won’t. And the help you will probably get comes in the form of negative feedback. If all those geniuses throughout history listened to their peers, we would probably still be living in the middle ages.

Spend time on it. I cannot stress that enough, although, please do not mistake this tip to tell you to quit your day job entirely. Do not. This involves some tricky time management, but with a little discipline you’ll be able to squeeze both in.

Exercise… Take a walk… Run a mile or two… and send all those endorphins coursing through your veins. Exercising certainly clears and relaxes your mind and allows for anything to pop up.

Record your dreams… Aren’t some of your dreams just the craziest things that your conscious mind would never have thought of? If you’ve had these dreams before, and I’m sure have, this only shows you the untapped innovative power you have lying within. So jot down those notes. Those dreams may just create an innovative spark in you. I find some of my best ideas come through just as I’m coming out of a good night’s sleep.

Find your own style… You can always tell a Van Gogh from a Matisse. You’ll know Hemingway wrote something by the choice of words on the paper. So it is the same with you. People will appreciate your innovation more, because it is uniquely yours and that no one else would have thought of what you were thinking. That will let people see how valuable an asset you are.

Don’t hide behind nifty gadgets or tools… You don’t need the most expensive set of paints to produce a masterpiece. The same way with writing. You don’t need some expensive fountain pen and really smooth paper for a bestseller. In fact, J.K. Rowling wrote the first book of the Harry Potter Series on bits of tissue. So what if you’ve got an expensive SLR camera if you’re a crappy photographer? Who cares if you’ve got a blinging expensive laptop if you can’t write at all? The artist actually reduces the number of tools they use as they get better at their craft: they know what works and what doesn’t.

Nothing will work without passion. What wakes you up in the mornings? What keeps the flame burning? What is the one thing that you’ll die from, if you don’t do? Sometimes people with talent are overtaken by the people who want it more. Think of the tortoise and the hare. Ellen Degeneres once said that if you’re not doing something that you want to do, then you don’t really want to do it or something like that. And that’s true. Sometimes you just want something so bad, you become virtually unstoppable. And that is passion. Passion will keep you going.

Don’t worry about inspiration. You can’t force it; inspiration hits when you least expect it to, for those unpredictable yet inevitable moments you should prepare. An idea could strike you on the subway, yet alas, you poor unfortunate soul; you have no sheet of paper to scribble down a thought that could change the world. Avoid these disasters. Have a pen and paper within your arm’s reach at all times.

The Road To Innovation

I hope this article has helped you bring more innovation into your life. Keep in mind that you’re doing these things for your own satisfaction and not anybody else’s. But soon enough they will notice, and everything should snowball from there.

Helpful Social Media Marketing Tips For All Sites

Social Media Marketing

Facebook – Twitter – Linked In – You Tube – Pinterest – Tumblr – Google+

Social media marketing has become an obviously powerful advertising tool in the online world. The focus has now shifted in advertising to what is the best media to produce and share its core message… how best to supply it. While this is something that is unique to each business owner, it is also a decision you should make with some core principles in mind. This article will give you a better understanding of social media marketing and how to approach it delicately.

One great idea for the content on your social media pages is to put up some great videos. If you have a video that people find especially funny or informative there is a chance that your viewers may pass these around to other friends which can increase the viewership of your page dramatically (viral marketing).

When you are using a blog for social media marketing, keep your readers interested. Keep your blog fresh with articles that educate your readers or inspire them in some way. Put effort into your blog, as it is the face of your business in that medium. The better your blog, the bigger your potential for success.

Once you get involved with social media sites and set up one for your own company or business, make sure that you visit these sites often and keep your content updated. Your visitors and fans will lose interest quickly if you don’t give them a reason to keep coming back.

Don’t worry too much about making your site perfect. While it is important to give the people a lot of information, don’t let the fear of imperfection keep you from getting started. Just as in many things, you will need to learn a little as you go along. Getting started and taking one step at a time is what is really important.

One great way to get people to participate on your social media sites is to offer freebies, giveaways, and contests. Make participation in some form or another on the entry form. You can use this to get people to follow you, like your page, or write something in a comment thread.

If you need to establish an email mail list, using a social media site is a great way to do it. Get your followers and fans to provide their email address to you for future mailings in exchange for an entry into a contest where prizes and discounts will be given away.

When writing a social media blog for your business, remember to add Twitter, Facebook. Google+, Linked In and other social sites. You can easily place a tweet, share, +1, and “in” buttons at the top of your blog. This will allow Twitter, Facebook, Google+, Linked In, (etc) users to easily share your blog on their site. Think of all the potential that these button can have on your marketing efforts.

If your message, media, platform, and audience all align; the results will always be successful. After you begin pulling in traffic from your quality advertisements, all you must do is… learn and evolve, and adapt to the changes around you. It is a demanding world online, but the rewards outweigh the work, and it is impossible to argue with profits.

*** Don’t forget to add Google+ | Google Plus to your social media marketing repertoire and list of social networking sites you are utilizing as it has become the second largest social site on the planet, surpassing Twitter back in January 2013.
