The World’s Condemnation

World’s Condemnation

In the discussion with Nicodemus regarding the new birth, Jesus said to him, “And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil” (John.3:19).

The light which came into the world, and was not embraced by the world is the “Kingdom of Light.”

There are essentially five (5) things which constitute a kingdom (viz.)

1. A Territory

The territory for the kingdom of light is the earth which is now being ruled by Satan and his demonic forces. It is stated that, “The whole world is under the sway of the wicked one” (1John.5:19). Satan, who is the ruler of the kingdom of darkness has given the fourth beast, the fourth world ruling kingdom on earth, which is the Roman Empire, his power, his throne and great authority (Revelation.13:2).

As soon as Jesus Christ Who is the heir of the kingdom of light was born, Satan tried to destroy Him. When the wise men from the east came to Jerusalem saying, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the east and have come to worship Him.” When Herod the king heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him. Then Herod, when he had secretly called the wise men, determined from them what time the star appeared, and he sent them to Bethlehem and said, “Go and search diligently for the young child, and when you have found him, bring back word to me, that I may come and worship Him also,” but when Herod saw that he was deceived by the wise men, was exceedingly angry; and he sent forth and put to death all the male children who were in Bethlehem and in all its districts, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had determined from the wise men.

But Jesus Christ was not among the dead children, because as soon as the wise men departed, “An angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying, “Arise, take the young child and His mother, flee to Egypt, and stay there until I bring you word; for Herod will seek the young child to destroy Him”. When Joseph arose from his dream, he took the young child and His mother by night and departed for Egypt, and was there until the death of Herod. (Matthew 2:22-3, 7-8, 13-5).

At the end of Christ’s forty days fasting in the wilderness, Satan established his claim of ruler-ship and authority of the earth, which was not refuted by Jesus Christ. The devil having taken Jesus to a high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time said to Him, “All this authority I will give you, and their glory; for this has been delivered to me, and I will give it to whomever I wish,” Therefore, if you will worship before me, all will be yours” (Luke 4:5-7).
Satan attempted again to destroy the life of Jesus by taking Him to Jerusalem and set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, “If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down from here. For it is written: ‘He shall give His angels charge over You, to keep You,’ “and in their hands they shall bear You up, lest you dash Your feet against a stone” (Luke 4:9-11).

Please note carefully, that instead of Jesus Christ refuting Satan’s claim of authority over the kingdoms of the earth, Jesus said to His disciples, “I will not speak with you much longer, for the prince [ruler] of this world is coming. He has no hold on Me, but the world must learn that I love the Father and that I do exactly what My Father has commanded Me, come now; let us leave” (John 14:30-31).

Jesus Christ the Heir and ruler of the earth came to His own (territory) and His own (people) did not receive Him. In the parable of the wicked Vinedresser it is clearly stated that the vineyard [earth] has been leased to vinedressers, who have repeatedly beaten, ill-treated, and shamefully sent away empty-handed, all servants sent by the owner of the vineyard to receive some fruit from the vineyard during vintage time.

Then the owner of the vineyard said, “What shall I do? I will send my beloved son. Probably they will respect him when they see him.’ “But when the vinedressers saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, ‘This is the heir. Come, let us kill him, that the inheritance may be ours,’ “So they cast him out of the vineyard and killed him. Therefore what will the owner of the vineyard do to them?
“He will come and destroy those vinedressers and give the vineyard to others” (Luke 20:13-16).
The world has been under the control of four (4) successive world powers, prophetically known as the four (4) Beasts. Namely:-
1. The Chaldean or Babylonian Empire (began in 709 BC until 506 BC)
2. The Persian Empire 529 BC
3. Grecian-Macedonian Empire (Golden age) 461-431 BC
4. The Roman Empire (200 BC) became divided in AD 395, West collapsed in AD 476, and the East in 1453
The Roman Catholic church under Pope Gregory the great in 590, set to create a Christian world Holy Roman Empire, which lasted until 1806.
Now according to the Prophet Daniel, “Those great beasts, which are four, are four kings [kingdoms] which arise out of the earth. But the saints of the Most High shall receive the kingdom, and possess the kingdom forever, even forever and ever” (Daniel 2:36-45; 7:17-18).
But the question is, are the saints of the most High positioning themselves to take over the kingdom! Or do they love darkness (lies) rather than the light (truth) because their deeds are evil?
The huge dilemma is men love darkness rather than light because their deeds are evil. For example, it is the fourth beast (the Roman Empire with the whore (the false church) that has changed times and laws, thus having people to begin a new day in darkness instead of in the light of day, having people to rest, and worship the sun god on the first day of the week, instead of the Creator of heaven and earth, Who ordained the seventh day Sabbath as the day of rest and worship. They are the ones who have disregarded the new moon as the beginning of months, and has totally disregarded the instructions the Lord gave to Moses and Aaron saying; “This month (which is the first New Moon in Spring) shall be your beginning of months; it shall be the first month of the year to you” (Exodus 12:2).
The sad thing however is, people are insensitive to these changes and consider them to be trivial and insignificant matters, but truly, these times of ignorance God has overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent.

In Real Perspective the Church is obligated to walk in the Light

Light is synonymous to truth, and it is manifested in the life of Jesus Christ and the words he spoke. According to the apostle John, “In him (Christ) was life, and the life was the light of men.” Jesus himself said, “I am the light of the world. He who follows me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” I have come as a light into the world that whoever believes in me should not abide in darkness” (John 1:4; 8:12; 9:5; 12:46).
The world’s condemnation is that, “The light has come into the world, and men love darkness rather that light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God” (John 3:19-21).
Walking in the light or walking in truth is so vitally important that unless the church is walking in the light as Christ himself is in the light there is no fellowship between believers and with God.
The apostle John wrote: This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you; God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with him yet walk in darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin” (1John 1:5-7).

The church according to the apostle Paul, “Ought to conduct themselves in God’s house-hold, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth” (1Timothy 3:15).

2. The church in order to have fellowship with the Father, must be holy, blameless, having a clear conscience, and irreproachable in his sight.
How is this feasible! Since, “If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us,” and if we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word has no place in our lives?”
The answer to this puzzle or seeming paradox is that, God has his mechanism in place to purify his church before they can be presented to him.
The mechanism which God has in place to sanctify and purify his church is his Blood. The Lord said, “The life of a creature is in the blood, and I have given it to you to make atonement for yourselves on the altar; it is the blood that makes atonement for one’s life.” Without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sins. As a well known song goes; “ For my pardon this I see, for my cleansing this my plea, nothing can for sin atone, this is all my life and peace, this is all my righteousness, nothing but the blood of Jesus.” It is in Christ we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace (Leviticus 17:11, Heb. 9:22; Matthew 26:28; Ephesians 1:7; Colossians 1:14, 20; 1John1:7).

The old system of sanctification was set aside because it was weak and useless (for the law made nothing perfect), on the other hand, a better hope is introduced, by which we draw near to God. The first system could not clear the conscience of the worshiper neither could it make those who draw near to worship perfect.
The one who sanctifies the church and present it holy, blameless, and irreproachable in the sight of God is Jesus Christ. As it is written: “For both he who sanctifies and those who are being sanctified are all of one, for which reason he is not ashamed to call them brethren, saying: ‘I will declare your name to my brethren; in the midst of the congregation I will sing praise to you.’
And again: I will put my trust in him.” And again: ‘Here am I and the children whom God has given me” (Hebrews 2:11-13).
It is Jesus Christ who officiates at our fellowship service. In our fellowship service we come to mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels in joyful assembly, to the church of the first born, whose names are written in heaven. We come to God, the judge of all men, to the spirits of righteous men made perfect, to Jesus the Mediator of a New Covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel” (Hebrews 12:22-24).
Such a fellowship should not be tarnished or corrupted with sin, hence the reason we have been admonished saying; “Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? What does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? What agreement is there between the temple of the God and idols?
For we are the temple of the living God, as God has said: I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people. Therefore come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you. I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty:” (2Corinthians 6:14-18).
The reason why we now have a better hope of drawing near to God is because we have an everlasting sinless High Priest with a perfect sacrifice that can be offered on behalf of our sins. For if the blood of bulls and goats and the ashes of a heifer, sprinkling the unclean, sanctifies for the purifying of the flesh, how much more shall the blood of Christ who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God’ (Hebrews 9:13-14).
