Birth of Jesus Christ has never been a secret (continued)

The birth of John Baptiste is a very important source of information which can help us determine and verify the exact and precise time of Christ’s birth.
• The birth of John Baptiste
The scriptures state quite explicitly that John Baptist was six months older than Jesus Christ, because when the angel visited Mary he said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God. Now indeed, Elizabeth your relative has also conceived a son in her old age; and this is now the sixth month for her who was called barren” (Luke 1:35-36).
The scriptures further confirmed that, “Mary arose in those days and went into the hill country with haste, to a city of Judah, and entered the house of Zacharias and greeted Elizabeth. And it happened, when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary that the babe leaped in her womb; and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. Then she spoke out with a loud voice and said, “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb!” (Luke 1:39-42).
Indicating that Mary was already pregnant when she visited Elizabeth and one can safely assumed that from the time Mary said to the angel “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word,” she became conceived. Therefore, if we can determine and verify when John Baptiste was born, we simple have to add six months to that time to arrive at the time of Christ’s birth, so let us begin the journey by following the basic principles of child birth.

The scriptures state quite explicitly that there was a certain priest named Zacharias, of the division of Abijah. His wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elizabeth” (Luke 1:5).
According to the scriptures there were twenty four (24) divisions of priest who were to perform their official duties at the altar. “This was the schedule of their service for coming into the house of the LORD according to their ordinance by the hand of Aaron their father, as the LORD God of Israel had commanded him” (1Chronicles 24:19).
These divisions came in and went out month by month throughout all the months of the year, with the first division performing his services beginning with the first month of the year. Now since there were twenty four divisions (24) it means that two divisions performed their services every month, and since Zacharias was of the division of Abijah whose division was the eighth, it means that Zacharias official service at the altar when he was visited by the Angel was between the fifteenth and sixteenth week of the year which coincided with the two last weeks of the fourth month.
Now the scriptures confirmed that “As soon as the days of his service were completed, that he departed to his own house. Now after those days his wife Elizabeth conceived; and she hid herself five months, saying, “Thus the Lord has dealt with me, in the days when He looked on me, to take away my reproach among people” (Luke 1:23-25).
After those days of his official service, when his wife Elizabeth was conceived, brings us to the fifth month of the year. Now if Elizabeth was conceived during the fifth month of the year, she would have given birth to John Baptiste during the first month of the following year, and having been six months older than Jesus Christ, He would have to be born during the seventh month of the year. What is so mysterious or impossible for anyone to understand?
Unfortunately, people who profess to be believers in Jesus Christ choose to ignore all these trove of evidence which points to the exact time of Christ’s birth, and rather cleave to the customs and traditions of men that have absolutely nothing to do with the birth of Jesus Christ. What a dilemma of vain worship! A situation which Jesus Christ vehemently spoke against: But truly, these times of ignorance God has overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent.

Integral Components of the Lord’s Sabbaths (part 2)

admin-ajax1 2. The second integral component of the Lord’s Sabbaths is, An appointed time. The Lord’s Sabbaths are specific times which the Lord has ordained to have fellowship with His subjects, for thus He says; “These are the feasts of the LORD, holy convocations which you shall proclaim at their appointed times” (Leviticus 23:4).
An appointed time is the time ordained by the Lord, for Him to have an audience, a banquet with His people, and when appears before Him at a time different to what He has ordained is profanity. For thus He says; “When you come to appear before Me, Who has required this from your hand, to trample My courts? Bring no more futile sacrifices; Incense is an abomination to Me. The New Moons, the Sabbaths, and the calling of assemblies — I cannot endure iniquity and the sacred meeting. Your New Moons and your appointed feasts My soul hates; They are a trouble to Me, I am weary of bearing them. When you spread out your hands, I will hide My eyes from you; Even though you make many prayers, I will not hear. Your hands are full of blood” (Isaiah 1:12-15).

And again He says; “Her priests have violated My law and profaned My holy things; they have not distinguished between the holy and unholy, nor have they made known the difference between the unclean and the clean; and they have hidden their eyes from My Sabbaths, so that I am profaned among them” (Ezekiel 22:26).

Let us not forget that the Sabbaths, the Lord’s appointed times is what that identifies the One and only true Lord from all others lords which are many. For thus says the Lord; “Moreover I also gave them My Sabbaths, to be a sign between them and Me, that they might know that I am the LORD who sanctifies them” (Ezekiel 20:12).
Remember also that observing the Sabbath is a perpetual covenant. For thus says the Lord; “Therefore the children of Israel shall keep the Sabbath, to observe the Sabbath throughout their generations as a perpetual covenant. It is a sign between Me and the children of Israel forever; for in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day He rested and was refreshed” (Exodus 31:16-17).
Therefore, the Sabbaths testify when an individual is worshiping the On and only true Lord of the universe and when he is worshiping a false God.

3. A Sabbath-rest

A close examination at the instructions given concerning the observance of the feast of Trumpets, one will observe that the Sabbath-rest, is a separate component from that of the other components that make up the Sabbath. It is a separate component by itself, and therefore, it is ludicrous to ignore all the other components of the Sabbath, and try to confine everything to this one single component. The Sabbath-rest is one which is based on belief, for it is written; “For we who have believed do enter that rest” (Hebrews 4:3).

This belief is to have complete trust and confidence, in the saving work of Jesus Christ. It signifies humbling oneself under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt us in due time, casting all our care upon Him, for He cares for us. Therefore, it necessitates that we be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let our requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

It necessitates liberating oneself from all mental, emotional and spiritual burdens, and so the admonition is, “Therefore if you bring your gift to the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift” (Matthew 5:24).

Then the Lord issued an invitation to us saying; “All things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father. Nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him. Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light” (Matthew 11:27-30).

The Sabbath-rest is only one of seven integral components that make up the Sabbath, and therefore, it is unable to make the rest of the integral components null and void. The absence of any of the other components is a reason for the dilemma of vain worship

4. The Sabbath is a memorial

Every Sabbath is a memorial of what the Lord did for humanity on that particular day. For example;
The seven day Sabbath is a memorial of creation.
The Passover/Days of Unleavened Bread, is a memorial of the Lord’s death, and our deliverance from sin.
Wave sheaf offering, is a memorial of the Lord’s ascension to heaven after His resurrection, to present Himself to the Father on our behalf.
Pentecost, which is fifty days after the wave sheaf offering, is a memorial of the coming of the Holy Spirit, and the beginning of the New Testament church.
Feast of trumpets, is a memorial of the blowing of trumpets, a time to warn the nations of impending disasters, until the seventh trumpet is sound.
Day of Atonement, a memorial of Jesus Christ, Who is our sin-bearer, and High Priest Who continues to intercede on our behalf and make atonement for our sins.
Feast of Tabernacles, a memorial of the birth of Jesus Christ, our spiritual tabernacle in whom we have our permanent dwelling, and the time He was inaugurated as the King of kings and Lord of lords. For when asked by Pilate; “Are You a king then?” Jesus answered, “You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice” (John 18:37).
And in the future we are told that, “And it shall come to pass that everyone who is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the Feast of Tabernacles” (Zechariah 14:16).
Punishment will be mete on all those who will refuse to obey this command, for it is written; “And it shall be that whichever of the families of the earth do not come up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, on them there will be no rain. If the family of Egypt will not come up and enter in, they shall have no rain; they shall receive the plague with which the LORD strikes the nations who do not come up to keep the Feast of Tabernacles. This shall be the punishment of Egypt and the punishment of all the nations that do not come up to keep the Feast of Tabernacles” (Zechariah 14:17-19).
The Eighth Day is a memorial of the Circumcision of Jesus Christ, the medium through which we all can now become co-heirs with Jesus Christ of the covenants of promises which God made to Abraham. As stated by the apostle Paul who wrote; “Therefore remember that you, once Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcised by those of the Circumcision made in the flesh by hands, that at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ” (Ephesians 2:11-13).
I therefore beg to ask the question, considering all the worldly memorials that we commemorate and give so much attention to, why are the majority of professing believers observing these memorials in commemoration of what the Lord has done for us? And is not Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today, and forever?

Third Source of Verification regarding the Birth of Christ

Almost very bible scholar knows and agrees that the ministry of Jesus Christ lasted for three and a half years (3 ½) commencing at the age of thirty according to the scripture which states; “Now Jesus Himself began His ministry at about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, the son of Heli” (Luke 3:23).

Jesus’ ministry from all indications began on the 15th day of the seventh month at the Feast of Tabernacles, and terminated on the 14th day of the 1st Month at his crucifixion and death on the day of the Passover. For it is stated that “His brothers said to Him, “Depart from here and go into Judea, that your disciples also may see the works that You are doing. For no one does anything in secret while he himself seeks to be known openly. If You do these things, show Yourself to the world.” For even His brothers did not believe in Him. Then Jesus said to them, “My time has not yet come, but your time is always ready. The world cannot hate you, but it hates Me because I testify of it that its works are evil. You go up to this feast. I am not yet going up to this feast, for My time has not yet fully come” (John 7:3-8).

But later we are told that; “Now about the middle of the feast Jesus went up into the temple and taught. And the Jews marveled, saying, “How does this Man know letters, having never studied?” Jesus answered them and said, “My doctrine is not Mine, but His who sent Me. If anyone wills to do His will, he shall know concerning the doctrine, whether it is from God or whether I speak on My own authority” (John 7: 14-17).

Now after hearing Jesus spoke openly in the temple, knowing that they were plotting to kill him: some of the people who heard him spoke said, “Can it be that the authorities really know that this is the Christ? Yet we know where this man comes from; and when the Christ appears, no one will know where he comes from” (John 7:25-27).

This seems to suggest that the notion, “When the Christ appears, no one will know where he [Christ] comes from” has gain acceptance and credibility throughout the world. As one can see they knew everything about him, but denied him of his reverence honor and glory as the Christ.

But according to the scriptures, Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Word of God who was made flesh, and dwelt amongst us was well known by the authorities, they affirmed this by saying, “Yet we know where this man comes from.” Therefore the whole details of his date of birth, including his circumcision which occurred eight days after his birth was not a secret, it was well known by the authorities.

Now consider this, if Christ began his ministry at the feast of Tabernacles which is observed on the 15th Day of the seven month, at the age of thirty, and his ministry lasted for three and a half years on the 14th of the 1st Month, obviously the birth of Christ corresponds to the Feast of Tabernacles, and the eighth Day corresponds with the day of his circumcision.

In the book of Leviticus chapter twenty three, verse thirty nine states the following; “On the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you have gathered in the produce of the land, you shall keep the feast of the Lord seven days; on the first day shall be a solemn rest, and on the eighth day shall be a solemn rest.”
To the Israelites and their succeeding generations, this festival is a reminder to remind them that; “God made the people of Israel dwell in booths when he brought them out of the land of Egypt:’ and that the Lord is their God” (Leviticus 23:43).

Today, this festival commemorates the day on which the Word became flesh and tabernacle among us, and we all received our permanent dwelling in him, for in him we live, and move and have our being. He is the vine and we are the branches. He is the one and only foundation on which we can all build our everlasting house.

The Eighth Day Festival

Lucius Joseph

In giving directives with regards to the celebration of the Feast of Tabernacles the Lord said to Moses; “Speak to the children of Israel saying; “The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the Feast of Tabernacles for seven days to the Lord On the first day there shall be a holy convocation. You shall do no customary work on it. For seven days you shall offer an offering made by fire to the Lord. On the eighth day you shall have a holy convocation, and you shall offer an offering made by fire to the Lord. It is a sacred assembly and you shall do no customary work on it” (Leviticus 23:34-36).

Later on in the same chapter twenty three (23) in the book of Leviticus in verse 39 the instruction continues; “Also on the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you have gathered in the fruit of the land, you shall keep the feast of the Lord for seven days; on the first day there shall be a Sabbath-rest, and on the eighth day a Sabbath-rest.”

Since the Feast of Tabernacles is for seven days, what is the significance of the eighth day?
What we find significant in scriptures concerning the eighth day is that it is:-

a. The time when the first born is offered to the Lord.

For it is written; “You shall not delay to offer the first of your ripe produce and your juices. The firstborn of your sons you shall give to Me. Likewise you shall do with your oxen and your sheep. It shall be with its mother seven days; on the eighth day you shall give it to Me” (Exodus 22: 29-30).

b. The beginning of Aaron’s Ministry

As it is written; “It came to pass on the eighth day that Moses called Aaron and his sons and the elders of Israel. And he said to Aaron, “Take for yourself a young bull as a sin offering and a ram as a burnt offering, without blemish, and offer them before the LORD” (Leviticus 9: 1-2).

c. Circumcision of every male child

As it is written; “Speak to the children of Israel, saying: ‘If a woman has conceived, and borne a male child, then she shall be unclean seven days; as in the days of her customary impurity she shall be unclean. And on the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin shall be circumcised” (Leviticus 12:3).
d. God’s everlasting Covenant with Abraham and his descendants

For thus says the Lord; “This is My covenant which you shall keep, between Me and you and your descendants after you: Every male child among you shall be circumcised; and you shall be circumcised in the flesh of your foreskins, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between Me and you. He who is eight days old among you shall be circumcised, every male child in your generations, he who is born in your house or bought with money from any foreigner who is not your descendant” (Genesis 17: 10-12).

e. The time of cleansing of the healed leper

For thus says the Lord; “He shall bring them to the priest on the eighth day for his cleansing, to the door of the tabernacle of meeting, before the LORD” (Leviticus 14:23).

Since the eighth day is a feast of the Lord, and a feast is a day or special time of rejoicing or feasting, often in memory of some great happening, The eighth day therefore with all its ramifications is a festival commemorating the eighth day of Christ’s birth, when he was circumcised, and offered to God, for it is written; And when eight days were completed for the circumcision of the child, his name was called Jesus, the name given by the angel before he was conceived in the womb” (John 2:21).

And what that means to us is that; “In Him we were also circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the sins of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ” (Colossians 2:11).

Before this historical event, which fulfilled the everlasting promises God made to Abraham and his offspring; those who were Gentiles by birth and called “uncircumcised” by what is called the Circumcision made in the flesh by hands —were at that time without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus those who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. Thus making them eligible to be a part of the everlasting covenants which God made with Abraham and his descendants, and thereby becoming joint heirs of the promise with Jesus Christ.
