Lead Generation: 10 Tips For Getting More Subscribers

10 Tips For Getting More Subscribers

More subscribers are almost as good as money in the bank, so here you go…

1. Include a call-to-action at the end of your blog posts.

Let your visitors know that if they like your blog posts, they’ll love your newsletter content.

That’s because you save some of your best niche tips, tricks and secrets for subscribers.

To get more subscribers, include a link to your landing page at the bottom of your posts, along with a reason to click on that link.

Example: Discover 101 more weight loss tricks for free—click here!

2. Encourage a viral effect.

You can get more subscribers simply by including a note at the bottom of every newsletter where you encourage your existing subscribers to forward your email to their friends, family and colleagues who could benefit from the information.

Example: “Do you know someone else who could benefit from these dog training secrets? Please forward this e-mail to them—they’ll thank you for it!”

3. Use your forum signature file to get new subscribers.

If you’re visiting busy niche forums, include an ad and a call-to-action in your forum signature.

Example: “Free report reveals the health secrets your doctor doesn’t want you to know! Click here to claim your copy now…”

4. Point your social followers to a free report.

Make full use of social media sites—Twitter, Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn, Pinterest—to grow your list.

Simply point your fans and followers towards your squeeze page to pick up a free report. Include this link on your profile page as well as in some of your posts.

5. Embed your links in your products.

Include links in your free reports too and encourage your readers to share what they have read with their friends.

6. Drive traffic to your landing page using videos.

You can create YouTube.com videos for the sole purpose of driving traffic to your newsletter sign-up page.

To get the best results, include a call-to-action at the end of your video where you promise viewers they can get the second part of the video—for free—when they join your list.

7. Tap into Hubpages to get new subscribers.

Create Hubpages.com pages around niche topics with the purpose of driving visitors and point as many links as possible to your landing page.

8. Co-promote with others in your niche.

Here you can swap endorsements with your partners. You can post your endorsements on your respective blogs as well as in your newsletters. I’ve also very successfully done ad swaps where I swap ads with other marketers.

9. Unleash the power of content marketing.

First create a multi-part article series around a niche topic.

Then upload Part 1 to the article directories (such as: EzineArticles.com, GoArticles.com and IdeaMarketers.com) and upload the rest of the series to your autoresponder.

Use your article byline to encourage people to get the rest of the series (starting with Part 2) by clicking through to your squeeze page.

10. Form a newsletter co-op.

Do a co-registration deal with one or more people in your niche, that is, when a prospect joins your partners newsletter, they also get the option of joining your newsletter at the same time (simply by checking a checkbox).

Summary…

You can use each of these 10 lead generation methods to get dozens, hundreds or even thousands of new subscribers. Test them out, track performance and do it over and over again. Just imagine how big your list will be once you apply all these methods.

Demand Generation vs. Lead Generation

Marketers often use the terms demand generation (demand gen) for lead generation (lead gen), interchangeably, but they’re not the same strategies.

I would like to clearly lay out definitions and goals so you are never lost for words about the difference between demand generation and lead generation again.

It is important to make the distinction between the two as marketers today are under the spotlight. They are asked to demonstrate ROI for each marketing dollar spent. Lead generation is one of the best ways to evaluate demand generation efforts.

What is Demand Generation?

Definition: Demand generation covers all marketing activities that create awareness and interest in your product, company and category. It includes a mix of inbound and outbound marketing.

Goals: Brand awareness and Creation of interest.

  • Demand generation not only focuses on your offering but also on your category.
  • Content designed for demand generation is generally more readily accessible and shared as much as possible.
  • Examples of Demand Generation content:
    • A whitepaper.
    • Blog posts.
    • Social media posts.
    • A public relations campaign.
    • A PPC campaign.
    • A product video hosted on YouTube.
    • A booth at a trade show.

Demand Generation Singapore
Lead Generation Singapore

What is Lead Generation?

Definition: Lead Generation is the process of collecting leads through form fills for the content you provide or through a website tracking software to add to your database of leads.

Goals: Collection of qualified leads to build trust and relationship; establish the expertise of the company and nurture them through the funnel until closed as customers.

Longer sales cycles, multi-step engagements, and enterprise sales require a lead generation strategy and process.

  • Examples:
    • A form ahead of your e-book/whitepaper/webinar.
    • A form on your PPC landing page.
    • Website visitor tracking of all your website visitors.
    • A form kept at your booth in a trade show.
    • A form to receive regular communication such as newsletters.

Remember: If you’re starting a lead generation campaign, be sure to have some sort of lead management system in place, such as HubSpot. You don’t want to create all that content only to lose your leads in the funnel.

In a nutshell, demand generation shapes perception, and lead generation is a data-gathering system.

It is critical to have a marketing plan that consists of both demand generation and lead generation. Each individual piece of content should be trying to do one or the other, not both at once. You have to distinguish lead-generating content from demand-generating content and craft each one accordingly.

Have You Applied These 6 Landing Page Optimization Tips?

Have You Applied These 6 Landing Page Optimization Tips?

A good landing page conversion rate is 3.5%. The exceptional record conversion rate is at least 11.45% (source: Wordstream). Look no further than this post for 7 optimization tips to make your own professional landing pages better.

1. Optimize Your Headline

Search engines want to do refer as many users as possible to websites and content that are most relevant to what they are looking for. The headline can be said to be the most important page element because they are what compel visitors to click, read, share or subscribe.

Therefore, when crafting your headline, keep in mind these best practices:

a. Keep it short: The headline must be succinct, to the point and “packs a punch” in a way that it is impressive to visitors who instantly know your offer is THE one they are looking for.

b. Keep it keyword-centric: Include choice keywords within different headings tags (like h4 and h1) and bold or italicize your headline. It helps with SEO.

c. Split-test your headline: Spend considerable time writing your headlines and split-testing to improve them. A compelling headline grabs the reader’s attention in 7-10 words.

2. Optimize Your Copy

In the same way that you optimize your headline, your copy (main body content) should also be concise and compelling enough to arouse curiosity. The more relevant the copy is written to target a particular buyer persona, the more intrigued the targeted visitors will be, leading to more visitors-to-leads conversions.

Use short sentences and create white space with smaller paragraphs and bullet points. Bullet points are a great way to hone in on key aspects of your offer and make the information easier for users to digest.

3. Complementary Image Or Video

Professional landing pages that include a relevant image give visitors a tangible idea of what they will receive and make landing pages much more visually appealing. The right kind of images and videos go a long way in establishing trust with the prospect.

When you provide a video, you can try short and long versions to see which is more effective or preferable, but it really depends on how much crucial detail needs to be conveyed. The video should not be longer than 1 minute.

The good thing about videos is you can also upload them to YouTube, link them to your landing pages and optimize the video page with keyword-laden description. It is suggested that video is 52 times more likely to show up on page one of Google search result than a text article if the keyword competition is not so keen.

4. Include Social Sharing Buttons/Links

Social sharing buttons are a common feature on professional landing pages now. These links enable visitors to easily share your landing pages with their connections on social networks like Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn and Twitter, extending the reach of your landing page beyond your own network of contacts, fans, and followers.

5. Attractive Opt-In Forms

Keep your subscription forms short and sweet. The less information asked in a form, the higher the chances of prospects filling it. Try to keep fields at a minimum by only asking information that is relevant and important to your business.

Keep in mind that people are more resistant to give up their information these days, especially because of the increase in spam. Add a privacy message (or link to your privacy policy) that indicates their personal information will not be shared or sold.

Concerning the call-to-action (CTA) button, words like “Submit” will make visitors feel stressed and not want to submit anything. Instead, try “Download Whitepaper”, “Get Your Free Ebook” or “Join Our Newsletter”.

6. Continuous A/B Testing

The best way to improve landing page performance is to keep testing new page element designs and ideas with A/B testing and keep optimizing your landing pages. To discover the best way to test your website, you can read the following article “Discover 7 A/B Testing Tips For A Successful Inbound Marketing Website“. It provides lots of effective ways to conduct an A/B testing by checking the CTA buttons, headlines, hyperlinks, etc.

11 Must-Haves For Mobile-Optimized Landing Pages

11 Must-Haves For Mobile-Optimised Landing Pages

Did you know there are 6 billions smartphones in use worldwide? This translates to about 90% of the world’s population. With mobile browsing being a fundamental function of the smartphone, more websites are catching on to having their pages optimized for mobile viewing. Asian and Singapore marketers would do well to make their websites or landing pages mobile-responsive. If your visitors can’t view your landing page properly on their smartphones, your click-through rate and subsequently lead conversion rate are going to be much lower than otherwise.

Here’s a checklist to make sure you have the best mobile-optimized landing page.

1. Be visible

Plugins such as Flash and PNG-24 images don’t work great for mobile browsing. Instead, you can turn to HTML5, jQuery, or JPGs to be visible to mobile viewers.

2. Scale to size

Scale your content appropriately to the type of device consumers are going to use to access your page. Also, remember to scale your page for both portrait and landscape views.

3. Be concise

With mobile pages, less is definitely more. The small screens of mobile devices coupled with lengthy copy will instantly dissolve your reader’s attention, so keep your text short and sweet.

4. Include a call-to-action (CTA)

The purpose of your landing page comes down to this. Offering something useful in exchange for your readers taking action on your page via the CTA. On a mobile phone, the CTA works much better as a button than an opt-in form.

5. Be thumb-friendly

Make your CTA buttons or any other interactive elements on your landing page big enough to be clickable, add enough space between clickable links (to avoid mis-clicks), and use touch swipe gestures whenever possible.

6. Slim is in

Have your content in a single column so viewers can scroll in a single direction.

7. Simplify

When it comes to forms, it can be quite a hassle on mobile devices. Keep them to the bare minimum, or split your form into two pages.

8. Load fast

If your page takes ages to load, you’ll get a high bounce rate. Keep your data below 20kb so your page loads under 5 seconds.

9. Be straightforward

Limit the number of actions a user has to take to get to the reward or offer, and make sure each action is compelling and easy to fulfill.

10. Be legible

Make sure your content is big enough to be read. If visitors have to squint to read your text, they will likely leave your page immediately.

11. Test for the best

Test the different elements on your landing page using A/B testing. Elements that work on a desktop page may not necessarily work on mobile pages.

Before mobilising your landing pages, make sure you have solid fundamentals in landing page design. Read “6 Features Your Landing Page Should Have“.

7 Cheats For Better Lead Generation

7 Cheats For Better Lead Generation

One of the problems that I most often hear about from clients, both small or big business owners based in Singapore and Asia, is that they do not get enough sales leads to grow their business.

Yes, generating sales leads is an essential part of growing your business.

Here are some tools that I would like to share for generating sales leads which use more of an Inbound marketing* approach.

  1. Websites

Exchange links with other entrepreneurs or partner websites that have the same niche or focus as yours. When people visit the other websites, they will come across your link and be redirected your website, which will bring you more traffic.

  1. Landing pages

a) Add simple forms

This is an easy way to get your clients’ information. Keep in mind that the form should be very simple and easy for them to fill up. Short, concise forms do better than lengthy forms. It’s certainly common sense that people don’t want to waste time filling in information.

b) Offer something which can help your clients’ business

You could allow your visitors to submit forms for:

1) Free demos

2) Free eBooks

3) Free Assessment

4) Case Studies

5) Free Webinars and so on…

  1. Email Marketing

This is simply one of the most powerful forms of lead generation. For very little cost, a professionally written email marketing campaign can generate a steady supply of high quality, targeted sales leads for your business.

  1. Blogging

Blogging is very feasible, and only takes some commitment for you to be able to turn it into a lead generation tool.

Your lead generation depends on your call-to-action.  If you want to increase your sales leads, here are some things you can implement on your blog:

  1. Subscribe to email course – this is a series of informative emails your visitor opts into, which will allow you to have the chance to sell your business in the emails.
  2. Download a free eBook or report – this captures people’s information for later follow up, which is how you generate leads for service businesses.
  3. Social media sharing – Using social media networks like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn to promote your blog content can help in reaching out to a wider readership and also in popularizing the content. You can do this by enabling viewers to share your blog’s content on social media networks by inserting sharing buttons on your web page.
  4. Register to see training video – Training videos are becoming popular now because you can get a great, informative video.

These are some of the strategies which can be helpful for doing lead generation with blogs.

  1. Social Media

When it comes to lead generation, social media can be a very effective tool for Singapore and Asian businesses. There are millions of people who are active on social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn) on a regular basis. For this reason, using social media can help you to remain connected with your exciting clients or potential clients, and market your services in the best possible way.

  1. SEO (Search Engine Optimization)

It is also equally important to make it easy for people to find your website or pages through search engines.

Here are the best practices for Search Engine Optimization (SEO):

a) Pick a primary keyword for each landing page

b) Place your primary keywords in your headline and sub-headline

c) Include the keywords in the body content

d) Include keywords in the file name of the image (Using Alt-Tag)

e) Include the keywords in the page URL

If you apply these SEO practices to your website, you will definitely get higher rates from organic searches. The higher you rank in organic searches, the more people will find you.

  1. Follow-up emails

Send “Thank You” emails or follow up emails to your clients after they buy your products or services, and send them an email few weeks later with a special offer or announcement. This way, you can keep the relationship going.

* Inbound Marketing is a form of digital marketing in Singapore and Asia that involves SEO, social media marketing, blogging and creating landing pages to generate sales leads.

The 5 Stages Of An Online Lead Nurturing Process

lead nurturingThere are at least 2 scenarios that come to mind as to why leads are not closed for the sale:

1) Some marketers presume that it is alright to start promoting their products and services barely days after new subscribers enter their lists.

2) In larger organizations, the corporate ‘tradition’ goes that the marketing team generates and passes the leads to the sales team which handles the promotion, but the sales conversion remains consistently low. The sales team may simply cancel the leads that it considers ‘cold’, whereas the marketing team feels ‘hands-off’ since the leads are already passed on. Neither team knows how to rekindle the leads’ interest.

In both cases, there is a gap in the marketing cycle that fails to make the leads feel eager in looking forward to hear more from the marketers. It is what lead nurturing precisely does: to invest in a little more time to build a long-term relationship between the marketer and his/her leads.

For the reason that leads generation is only one side of the coin, now discover how to build trust and loyalty that paves the way to an easy sale in 5 stages:

1) The Handshake: This is the first point of contact whereby a visitor gets acquainted with the marketer’s website and registers for an e-newsletter, an e-book or a webinar. When the visitor sends a message using the contact form, s/he is also initiating a handshake.

2) The Conversation: The purpose of the conversation is to inform and educate subscribers about the challenges related to the general topic they registered for. In the Information Age, readers like to learn more, so it is an opportunity to address details not initially included in the first set of downloaded material, or to delve deeper into the issues.

This being a conversation, the marketer can also seek feedback and start a dialogue with subscribers to build trust and loyalty. The marketer has to take note and take advantage of the various content delivery channels—email, mobile, ezines, blogs, article directories, whitepapers, social media etc.—to grow his/her reach.

3) The Contact: This is the stage where more marketers probably fall short. Insofar where the ‘Conversation’ is concerned, the same information is dispensed to all subscribers. Now having felt encouraged by what they have read, the subscribers will reach out to marketers for more information specific to their needs. Marketers must offer personalized content and even a proposal to turn them into true business prospects.

4) The Qualification: It is time for marketers to consider whether their solutions are a good fit for prospects’ needs. Now that content distribution and communications have steered the conversation in a certain direction, marketers must step up to address the likely problems each prospect is facing and state why and how they can be solved. A problem analysis can be conducted by asking prospects a series of questions that break down the details, thus giving marketers a well-rounded understanding of each case they are facing.

5) The Close: Finally, marketers submit a formal proposal that calls for prospects to take up the offer. There is no denying that as marketers and prospects move through each lead nurturing stage, chances are higher that prospects feel more comfortable to continue the work with marketers they are familiar with. Beyond the ‘Close’, marketers must continue to do what they have set out to begin with: deliver on their promises and instill loyalty and confidence before prospects look elsewhere for competitors.

The 5 stages of the lead nurturing process is key to creating a strong, happy business relationship that naturally encourages further business. It’s about being “systematic in activity, dynamic in response”. Now that’s an easy slogan for marketers to remember.

How To Build A List Of Eager Subscribers

Email Marketing Service

Every online business provides great service to generate satisfaction among their customers. As each and every customer receives satisfaction over their products or the services they get, there is a great chance that they will become a return customer and buy again. Better yet, they will recommend you to other people that could generate more business for you and your site.

As more traffic is driven to your site, you can entice many of them to subscribe to your mailing list or opt-in list. This is a list wherein website visitors agree to be sent promotional materials such as newsletters, catalogs and such that could keep them updated about your site or the niche of your site. These promotional materials are sent via e-mail to the members of the list in different time intervals.

When using e-mail as the media of your marketing and advertisements, you eliminate the need for high costs. E-mail is free and if you can manage to make your own promotional advertisements you can also save a bundle there. With an opt-in subscribers list, you are pretty sure that what you are sending out is received, viewed and read by the subscribers and not simply being deleted. They have signed up for service and have consented in receiving it.

This means that there are constant reminders to your subscribers about all your products, new products and services as well as any promotions and special deals you are having. There is also the chance that they can be forwarded to other potential customers as they tell their friends and families about you and your site.

Of course you should be also aware that a subscriber may unsubscribe when they feel that they are not getting what they want or expected. Make sure that they are satisfied with your opt-in marketing strategies and keep them excited in receiving your newsletters and catalogs. Here are some tips that can help you build a list of eager subscribers.

Make your promotional materials interesting and fun. Try to use a little creativity but not too over artsy. Build around what your product or service is about. For example, if you are selling car parts, put some pictures of what is new in the auto parts world, a new wing door possibly that can fit any car and make it look like a Lamborghini.

Try to research what people are looking for. This way, you stay one step ahead of them all the time and you will be their bearer of new tidings. They will be eager to receive what you are sending them because they new you always have fresh and new things to share with them.

Write good articles that can be very informational but light at the same time. If your subscribers enjoy your articles, they will go to your site by clicking the links that you will be putting on your newsletter to read some more. You can provide articles that can connect to many people. Be diverse in your articles. Put something humorous, then put something informational, then put something that has both.

Are you wary about this because you don’t like writing? No problem, there are many professional and experienced article writers that can do the job for you for minimal fees. They know what they are doing and can provide the need that you have for your newsletters, the money that you pay for your articles are going to be met by the many sign-ups and the potential profit from the sales that you will get.

Create and send an e-book to your customers about anything that is related to your business or site. Use your knowledge and expertise in the field you have chosen to help other people who are similarly interested. Offer this e-book for free. You can write about anything informational and helpful to your subscribers. For example; you can do manuals and guides in so many things. This e-book could be used as a reference for many people.

Share this e-book with everyone, even other sites; just make sure that they donít change the links in the e-book that will lead people to your site. If you want, you can always get some people to write it for you just like your articles. Your investment once again will be covered by the great marketing this will generate.

Add e-coupons in your newsletters that will help them avail to special discounts. Put a control number in your e-coupon so that they can only be used once. When people get discounts that can be found in your newsletters, they will be eager to receive your newsletter in anticipation of what you are promoting next.

If your subscribers can get benefits from your newsletters, they will be very eager to receive them. Just don’t flood your mailing list with mails so that you don’t annoy your subscribers.

Does your website have an easy and obvious way for allowing visitors to opt in for something they can receive for free in return? If not, let us know so we can take a look and give you a few good complementary tips. It’s on us!

Instant List Building Formula

This innovative list building formula was invented by a 22-year-old guy from Israel who used to work 2 jobs simultaneously.

Can you imagine what’s it like having a 56-hour work week and still trying to find time to run an online business AND a household?

Well, Igor found a way…

This is different from what you’re used to have thrown into your face by the g-u-r-u-s…

Igor’s life transformed completely since he discovered the formula…

Now he spends 56 hours a week playing Call of Duty, FIFA11 and NBA2K 11!

Instead of working!

Here’s how he does that.

Build Your List (free webinar replay, watch it now)

Building a list is one of the “high value” activities that you can do for your business.

The problem is that a lot of people build a list, just like they were taught only to find out that their “$1 ROI per subscriber” they were promised never showed up.

The reason is that getting someone on your list is ONLY the FIRST step.

The thing that many new marketers never figure out (or figure out too late) is that just having a list is not enough.

The key is to build a relationship with that list WHILE you are building it…

Unfortunately, most list building courses focus on monetizing those visitors immediately…and NOT for the long term…

Ever seen these strategies:

– exit popups?
– endless, useless funnels?
– cut-and paste ad swapping?

Quick question, how do you think your “readers” feel when you do this to them?

Here is an alternative…

Show your subscribers something they have never seen before…be different.

Luckily, this is super easy…

Treat your list like a list of people instead of a list of numbers that will bring you some dollar increment per month.

Little things like:

– teaching your best stuff
– interacting with them
– letting THEM tell you what they need

WILL drastically change your bottom line.

I want to show you exactly how you can do this with no risk by watching this comprehensive 39-min video today.

Webmasters are slaves…

Sometimes we get bombarded with so many “systems” and gimmicks we forget the basics…

Get back to basics…

Because it’s simple.

Because it works.

Because it’s worked forever.

The fact is, the truly successful TOP Internet Marketers NEVER stopped doing what has always worked for them. The category of this post already gives you a clue.

Now click here to watch a short 10-minute video. It could be the wake-up reminder you need!

Your no. 1 marketing tool is…

Autoresponder Profit System

Ask any successful successful Internet marketer and they will probably tell you that their most valuable marketing tool is their autoresponder.

I know you’ve heard it before…

“The Money is in the List!”

Well, your autoresponder is the key to unlocking extraordinary profits from your list with a system that puts money in your pocket like nothing else you have seen before.

So how do you build a list?

And more importantly…

How do you make money from your list?

Here’s the answer.

Jerry Iannucci’s Autoresponder Profit System book gives you everything you need to start earning a full-time income building a list while exploding your sales in any online business you are currently promoting.

I have been given special permission from Jerry Iannucci to allow you to download his APS book for FREE if you go to this link now.

Building Your E-List

According to consultant Wendy Montes de Oca, conducting online polls is a great way to add names to your e-list.

She says that for an e-list built with online polls, less than 2% of the names dropped off the list after 6 months.

Other methods Wendy recommends for e-list building include article marketing, reciprocal ad swaps for lead generation, and pay-per-click advertising.

Not working so well: buying e-mail addresses (“almost always a waste of money”), renting e-lists, sweepstakes, and e-mail address appending. “With these methods, more than 50% of the names dropped off the file after 6 months,” she says.

Finally, buy solo ads in any niche for 15 bucks?

What if you could buy solo ads in virtually ANY niche, including the one you’re in, or would like to be in, for only $15?

Well, you can’t. But Marlon Sanders has discovered the next best thing and recorded a video on it for you…

The ‘big’ drawback of solos in the past was they were expensive and you couldn’t get them in niches.

This new twist removes those barriers and opens a whole new world for you in 2013.

Marlon explains the whole thing here.

But the good news is, every so often something stands out from the crowd. That’s why I’m happy to tell you about a new site I’ve discovered!

At last here’s something that does exactly what it says on the squeeze page! In fact I’ve been inside the member’s area and it does a LOT more.

Push Button Giveaways 2.0 has everything you need to effectively build your list by joining JV giveaways. It stores your gifts, text adverts, and special offers. It lets you join giveaways with a few clicks of you mouse and then setup all your gifts etc with a few more clicks. It creates e-mails, a blog widget and web page for you and it then tracks all your results!

If you’re looking to save time and effort, but still build your list then you have to join this site right now!
