Be a Web-Site Tester

A friend introduced me to a new site that looks pretty interesting I have to say. It’s free to join and will always be, no costs even after launch. The plan is to earn money for reviewing people’s web-sites and helping them to tweak their site so that it offers visitors the best experience.

In pre-launch the site is focussing on getting people to sign up to be testers (and it’s growing like wild-fire). From 15th July we will be able to log which categories of sites we would like to review and from 1st September  the work will be available (that’s when they aim to get clients signing up to pay to have their sites reviewed..

It is going to be possible to earn money in three ways:

i) the site is putting aside 10% of all profit to profit share with members and everyone gets a share of this, the more people who sign up after you, the larger your earnings in this pot, which I suspect is why it’s growing so fast

ii) you can earn for reviewing sites from 1st September 2010 when that function goes live

iii) you will earn a percentage of the earnings of any people that you refer to the site.

Has to be worth keeping an eye on this one me thinks so why not come on over and take a closer look for yourself?

Success Questions

Jimmy Dean maintains there are fours questions that you should ask yourself if you are aiming to succeed at anything:

“For true success ask yourself these four questions:

Why? Why not?  Why not me?  Why not now?”

~Jimmy Dean~

When I came across this quote it really struck a chord - Why? - Because it makes sense

Why not? - If you want something enough, open your mind to the opportunities available for you to achieve it.

Why not me? - Only you can hold yourself back - instead of rationalising yourself out of the necessary actions, allow yourself to consider and act upon those that will lead you to your goal.

Why not now? - There is no time like the present, why wait. Open your mind and hear and act on the considered options that take you where you want to go. “Never put off until tomorrow that which you can do today” - I can never remember who said that but it is one of my favourite maxims :)

So open your  mind and heart, fire yourself up and take those all important steps in the direction of your dreams. Enjoy the journey and the destination will take care of itself. Make the most of your time and your skills, always be ready to learn and grow, we are never too old and now is as good a time as any to start moving on up.

Have fun,

Debs

How ready are you?

Do you live your life in a sea of self doubt or are you constantly ready to meet the next challenge or opportunity that comes along?

Are you hesitant, choosing to lose out rather than jump headlong into things before you’ve had time to research every angle?

It’s a real quandary isn’t it when it comes to internet marketing especially. Jumping headlong into things before doing your due diligence inevitably causes heartache and financial problems, yet taking so long to research something that you miss the boat completely can cause just as much heartache in a different way..

So what’s the secret - is there one?

Being prepared and having plan certainly helps. A lot!

If you do your homework and take time to decide what type of business opps suit you and your approach, that helps you narrow down the field of exciting, never to be missed things that come your way. No matter how good it looks, why risk getting involved in something that you know deep down that you are not going to work with because it doesn’t suit your lifestyle or your approach. If you’re not willing to step outside your comfort zone on that one, no matter how much money you throw at it - it won’t work for you so simply don’t go there is a good rule of thumb..

Know yourself and your capabilities, learn what you are willing to work at and then stick to that and work it like mad.

How ready are you to be honest with yourself?

Until you can answer that question, internet marketing will continue to elude you, it will always be something that remains at the edge of your fingertips, no matter how hard you think you are trying, because until you are prepared to be honest with yourself and face up to what you are and aren’t willing to do and then take responsibility for that, you’re likely to keep jumping on the wrong opportunity and blaming everybody else for your lack of success.

Harsh though it sounds, we’ve all been there at some point. So how ready are you?

Separating the Players from the Wannabees

There’s an old saying that I love which the title of this blog post reminds me of - when I was a kid and my parents wanted to highlight the difference between someone doing something well and someone just going through the motions, they used to call it ’separating the wheat from the chaffe’.

Separating the players from the wannabees is about the same issue and it is really relevant to online marketing. We all start out so excited, get totally fired up, convinced that we have found the holy grail of a successful lifestyle and then at some point about 98% of us will come crashing or fizzling back down to earth, disappointed, downtrodden, frustrated and/or more broke than before..

Which percentage do you want to be in and more importantly what are you going to do about it?

In this business there are very few people who truly understand and are willing to fully share what works. Tony Tezak is one of them though it’s taken 10 years for him to decide to really publicise the secret of his success from mindset to action plan and what has worked for him and why.

He has published his tips for running a successful business in a free to download ebook that you can pick up here - Put Tonys’ Tips to Work for You - pay careful attention to the one time offers that you find as you are downloading your ebook because these give you rebranding rights and one of the things that has worked best for him over the past ten years is building his personal list of business contacts by giving away useful, rebranded ebooks.

In fact if you want to simply download his ebook to read the whole thing for yourself before deciding whether you want to take up one of the one time offers on the main site - sign up here  and in the first email I will send you the ebook link immediately.

Don’t waste any more time on this - Tonys’ tips work for traffic exchanges and safelists as well as social media sites, the main traffic generators newbies need while they are building their own customer base. Grab your free copy today, then you decide which OTO will work best for you -:)

Thought for Thursday :)

Todays quote is from the actor Anthony Hopkins, made most famous perhaps by his performance as Hannibal Lecter in the Silence of the Lambs trilogy:

“Life isn’t worth living if I miss an episode.”
~Anthony Hopkins~

That quote really struck a chord with me when it landed in my inbox the other day because it’s so true isn’t it? If we choose to bury our heads in the pillow and ignore life as it happens then we are liable to become depressed and too lethargic to notice the beauty around us and the opportunities that slip away un-noticed. If we let that happen, we really may start to think that life isn’t worth living.

Imagine those opportunities for new friendship, for unexpected moments of fun and laughter with friends and family for the simple pleasures that you’re allowing to pass you by - I’m not talking about opportunities for building your business even here, just the every day pleasantries that make the trying times easier to bear when they do happen by.

When life is getting you down and you feel yourself start to withdraw, (we all get those days occasionally, no matter how positive we are in our outlook), remember that everything that happens, happens for a reason. Look deeply at your reaction to whatever is beginning to get you down and find that little chink of light. Somehow if you look hard enough you will find one, and then hold onto it for all you’re worth and build on it. Let go of the darkness and hold on tight to that little chink of light until you can see the next one and the next so that the darkness starts to recede.

Don’t let yourself miss a single episode in the rich act of your life. Each experience helps to make us what we are, that’s why we change over time. We are blessed with the ability to move forward, to assimilate learning and to overcome pain and sorrow if we just have faith.

Sounds so simple doesn’t it? If only — no-one said it would be easy lol - just that it is worth it.

Success is about the journey rather than the destination so each of those life episodes is part of your success no matter how negative it felt at the time. Besides, if we didn’t have darkness we wouldn’t be able to appreciate the light. Next time that life is getting you down, focus on how good it’s going to feel when you catch that little ray of light, and how much more you will be able to appreciate it because of the trial you are experiencing at the time.

May you experience happiness, health and success in 2010 in return for reading this far :)

Are You Mailing to the Max?

Email marketing is still a popular way to gain referrals to your own list or to list building sites that you use, even in spite of the fact that the majority of marketers these days say that they send their safelist mail directly to the trash folder in their gmail account.

Depending upon what you are advertising this way and which safelists that you use, it is still possible to benefit from traffic and sign ups using this method.

I use only credit based safelists, those which give people the chance to earn credits for clicking on the link in emails and I advertise only free to join sites on them, especially sites that give away free advertising. As marketers we are always interested in increasing our advertising and giving away free advertising is a great way to engage with people and start the relationship building process.

Even when using credit based safelists your headline is of the utmost importance, people rarely spend time clicking on all of the emails they receive from a safelist site, yours still needs to be the one that stands out and says ‘click me!’

There is a great site that will help you to test the emotional value of your headline for the market you are trying to reach - Headline Analyser I found this thanks to a VN colleague and I have found it pretty useful..

A great way to maximise your safelist mailing is to use a neat new system from Paul Kinder and Troy Wray, you can manage up to 7 mailing lists of your own choosing as a FREE member! and there are various levels of paid membership if you want to manage more than 7 mailing lists.

The system will allow you to create multiple email templates for each list and it will remind you when to send so that you don’t miss out on any of your mailing times. How often have you kicked yourself for missing a mailing because you were busy and forgot that it was available? Never again, you can maximise your mailing and thus your profits with this simple to set up system so why not give it a trial today?

Mail to the Max from today :)

Advertising and Income Made Simple :)

Everybody who is marketing online needs advertising right? There isn’t one of us who can survive without it - it’s the life blood of our business, unless you have a massive list already and no longer even really need a web-site lol..

Most of us are constantly looking for new, innovative and preferably inexpensive was to advertise our business so when I came across this site just recently I have to say I was well pleased. It offers a range of advertising, from guaranteed visitors to your site, to text and banner ads across sites that are targeted to other marketers (so bear that in mind when planning your advertising here, but isn’t that precisely the market that most of us need to access?).

You even get 2000 advertising points just for signing up so you can actually test out their advertising before you ever have to buy - how cool is that (and how convincing, the site admin has so much faith in his product that he will let you try it for free under no obligation!).

On the other hand if you decide to really run with this - for just $10 you get:

3,000 Guaranteed Visitors to any site you choose (or 30k text ad impressions if you prefer

To participate in the FREE 7 day fast track getting started system that helps you make the most of your new advertising & income system

Live training and presentations to help you learn as effectively as possible

A bonus position in a fast moving 2×2 - see site for more info on how that works.

What have you got to lose by trying this out for yourself today? Go take a look, sign up for your free advertising points, use the advertising that gives you to test the system and check out your back office for the training links. I will also happily be available to help you get started. Come on in, this water is fine :)

Friday inspiration :)

Two thoughts for today lol:

“Striving for success without hard work is like trying to harvest where you haven’t planted.”
~David B~

“The dictionary is the only place where success comes before work.”
~Arthur Brisbane~

They’re pretty much complimentary which is why they struck a chord I think :)

The first one really highlights how pointless it is to get involved in any online opportunity that promises you riches without work. There is no such thing!

To be rich financially, we need to work at it somehow, money doesn’t multiply without help from us, would that it did lol. Even if a system does every scrap of selling for you, if you don’t work to advertise it and send the right visitors into that system, it will not be able to do it’s job. Advertising and generating traffic is work, and it’s not easy work until you hit on your particular formula.

The second quote just kind of reinforces the first one I think and also highlights how important an issue this is to people who are already successful, they know this already.

So next time you read a web-site that tells you that it will do all of the work for you, remember that even if that system is as good as it sounds - you have to be prepared to work at getting visitors, and the right kind of visitors to your site if you’re going to succeed.

See previous posts for some tips on generating traffic. We also have some podcasted tips on using Twitter to best advantage on Biz Podcasts so if you’ve been feeling a bit lost on Twitter, head on over and download your free podcast now :)

Free Business Podcasts

James and I recently decided to team up and start creating our own products to help share the knowledge and learning that we’ve accumulated during our time online.

BizPodcasts is the outcome!

During development of the site (and it is still a work in progress, we decided to expand our theme  a little to include stress management and a featured creative artist category. The stress management section is fairly self explanatory - these days who doesn’t need a little additional help with stress relief :)

The creative artist corner came about because we also all need a little recreational downtime and we thought it would be fun to share some interviews and excerpts from authors and musicians that you may otherwise not have come across so easily :)

We currently have several attraction marketing themed podcasts and a couple of Twitter tips audios in the internet marketing section, stress management tips and a full body relaxation podcast plus an interview with author Naya Lionsong and a reading of an excerpt from her new sci-fi novel so we very much hope that there will be something there to appeal to most people.

We are also adding more podcasts regularly in order to make BizPodcasts, the place to visit lol :)
