Getting Started With Video Blogging

A videoblog requires larger disk spaces on websites, a fasterserver, and a whole new set of programs to support it. Videoblogs can be fed through RSS. This is technology of syndicating your website to other RSS aggregators.

Videoblogging works with people on the internet expressing their selves. Now if you put this on a business prospective, you are up to a lot of benefits. Think of it as a powerful tool in making showing your prospective customers your line of products or your services. It is just like showing a commercial all for free. And if you videoblog through RSS, then most probably you are getting your target market.

People like to see what they are going to buy. Some would like to see proof and be sure that they are getting their moneys worth before shelving their dimes on it. All of us know the influence of a thirty second commercial. The effect of videoblogging is similar to that. You show your product, people watch it. If they like it, they buy it. If you present it good enough, they will buy the product even if they do not need it.

Now on the web, things are pretty much static, unlike in television in which all are moving. If you post something that is mobile, it would most likely catch attention. Now imaging your product parading in all its royalty through videoblog. You will get phone call orders in no time.

If your business is just starting up, you can create a videoblog right at your own home. All you need is your web camera, microphone, video software, and lights. For as long as you know how to use your camera, then you can create a videoblog.

Invest in a good web camera. The higher its resolution is the better the output. And you like to present your goods in the optimum way so get the best one possible. Make a short story, or just capture your goods in one go. Just make sure you are getting the best profile for each. Get those creativity juices flowing.

Lights are important in a production. Make sure you illuminate entirely the area you are going to use to create videoblog. The brighter the area, the crispier the images will be. You can also use lighting effects for added appeal to the presentation.

Should you require sounds for your videoblog, you need a microphone. Record you voice as a voice over for promoting the product and its benefit to consumers. Sounds are as important as videos on a videoblog. It is advisable to make your sound effects as enticing as the video.

Your video editing software can be any program. You need this to finalize your work. You can add sounds, delete some bad angles, or insert some still pictures in there too. Some programs are user-friendly and can be used even with zero knowledge on video editing. Even simple video editing programs should do the trick. Select your background carefully too. The light affects the presentation so make sure that the background and the light complements each other.

Videoblogging is a great tool but it also has it downside. It may slow down the computer so other may steer clear of it. Download time may also be time consuming especially if customer is still on a dial- up connection.

But do not let those stop you. Let videoblogging be an alternative for you, though it is best to still keep the text and pictures present in your presentation to accommodate all possible viewers of your site.

Nowadays, the more creative you are in presenting your product to the market, they more you are likely to succeed. Videoblogging offers an interactive way of selling. You involve the customers. You instill in them the advantage of your goods. And at times, those are enough to make a sale.

Profitng And Benefiting From Wordpress Ella

The “Wordpress” developer team has successfully launched their latest version ofWordpress, called “Wordpress Ella”. Numerically, the version number is called version 2.1

To the uninitiated, news like this seems like a normal announcement from software developers and are often passed on by. However, from the eyes of a trained mind and savvy businessman, the news of “Wordpress Ella” contain many benefits that onlinebusiness owners can immediately tap into and profit from.

Wordpress Ella” comes with the following enhancements which are a great resource for online business owners.

1. First on the list of enhancements from Wordpress Ella is an ‘autosave’ function that ensures you will never lose a post again. This is an invaluable tool especially at times when you have spent a lot of time in front of your computer screen, brainstorming on what to write to promote your business.

Imagine the horror or frustration especially in instances where the battery of your notebook died and you forgot to save. Or perhaps there was a blackout or you accidentally closed the browser window without saving your work.

Wordpress Ella” autosave function is a real time saver and is an abosolute must for any online businesses.

2. Next in line on “Wordpress Ella” is the “Import” and “Export” functions. Let’s talk about the import function first.

The latest release of “Wordpress Ella” has an import function that allows you to import your blog created from other popular blogging platforms such as ‘Movable Type’, ‘Typepad’, ‘Livejournal’, ‘Blogger’ and so on, into Wordpressitself.

This way, you don’t have to lose any important data such as your blog posts and comments. This flexibility is another reason why Wordpress itself is so successful and continues to gain a huge following and user base.

Why would anyone want to transfer their blog from another platform toWordpress? Well, one reason is because with most of these other blogging platforms, the user has to pay a monthly fee. Wordpress, as almost everyone knows is free, and you can easily install with a few clicks using Fantastico from within your hosting account’s Cpanel.

Another reason to migrate or transfer the entire blog to Wordpress could be due to the limitation of some blogging platforms. Blogger, for example does not support the use of categories, which are critical when it comes to optimizing the blog to rank high for specific keywords related to the business.

Now, let’s discuss about the “Export” function.

“Export” as the name implies, will export all the Wordpress posts and comments into a file (called XML). This file can then be imported into otherWordpress blogs. It’s like a cross transferring of data between similar or related “Wordpress Blogs”.

This is useful when one is starting a new blog and perhaps need to populate the blog with useful content instead of just displaying news feed. For example, if you have a blog on muscle building, and you started a new blog on weight loss, you can import the content (which are the posts and comments) from the muscle blog into the weight loss blog.

This way, when you drive traffic to your new weight loss blog, you can at least provide the reader with some useful content while you build up the content around weight loss. Naturally there is some correlation between these two topics. After all, if you want to build muscle, naturally you need to burn off the excess fats and turn them into muscles!

3. Another enhancement of “Wordpress Ella” is the new search engine privacy. What this means is that you can indicate whether you’d like your blog to be indexed or ping by search engines, especially Google, Yahoo or MSN, which are the three top search engines online.

Most experienced marketers know about the pinging power of blogs. Everytime when a post is published, Wordpress will ping or notify specific blog directories about updates to your blog, causing them to index or visit your blog, brining you that additional and much needed targeted traffic.

As crazy as it sounds, considering that most business owners would like to get their site listed in the search engines, there are also times when you might want to hide or mask your blog from the radar screen of search engines. This is true especially in cases where it’s only meant for paid customers only. For example, you might be providing some sensitive information meant for paid customers and you don’t want anyone doing a search on the search engines to stumble upon your blog and have access to the information.

4. Another powerful upgrade that “Wordpress Ella” brings is the ability to specify a static page as the front page for your site or blog.

Most savvy marketers employ the use of a mini site or a one page only sales letter when marketing their products or services. Normally such one page sites will also contain an opt-in box, where visitors and readers are enticed to provide their email address in exchange for a free gift, software, e-course etc.

When they do so, they will normally be enrolled in an autoresponder course that automatically does the follow-up with the said subscriber which either results in a sale or no sale.

With a blog, however, the main page or the front page will always a display of the latest chronological posts. You can create pages for a blog, however, in the past it was not that easy for the layman to do so.

With “Wordpress Ella”, all you need to do if you want a static front page is to select this option in the Wordpress control panel. It can’t get any easier than this.

These are just some of the enhancements that you can immediately benefit from “Wordpress Ella”.

This article assumes you already have some basic knowledge about the marketing power of blogs in terms
of its syndication power, targeted traffic and search engine optimizationcapability for keywords.

Why Everyone Should Have a Blog

Blogging is not a passing fad… it’s another channel for you to use as a marketing tool and a creative outlet to get more mileage out of your voice over business!

Learn more about thebenefits of blogging and how you can get started to make your mark in the blogosphere. There’s no better time to get typing.Blogging as a voice actor should certainly be on your To-do List. There’s a very small learning curve and often the software is free to use.

What are some of the benefits to you as a blogger writing a blog?

- A greater web presence
- More relevancy
- A global means to communicate to customers and peers directly
Higher search engine rankings
- Ability to receive positive feedback and constructive criticism

Those are some technical benefits of blogging, however, there are many otherbenefits that will broaden your horizons and network of acquaintances, colleagues, and friends.

Blogging also connects you with

- Your community
- New customers
- Fellow bloggers
- Organizations
- Friends

Dozens of voice talents and voice actors already have blogs that they use to promote their services, demos and use as tools to converse with other people about the voice industry.

A while ago, we published a blog post that recognized some voice talent bloggers. Since that post, there have been many other voice talents who have joined the blogosphere and added their voice (both figuratively and literally) to the happenings of our industry and beyond.

To set the record straight, every level of the industry should be blogging. Right now, the vast majority are voice talents blogging.

I foresee that coaches will be blogging, providing some value upfront via the blog about voice overs, vocal health, and present opportunities that lead to more students signing up for their classes. It would be interesting to see casting directors and agents blogging as well.

Trust me, you don’t have to look far to see that there are hundreds of questions out there about agents, how to get one, who should I go with, and the list goes on. If every agency had a rep blogging about what they look for in their agency, if they have openings for particular voice types, and so on, those lines of communication would do the industry good, giving a positive first impression to potential clients while establishing their platform as a voice talent agency.

Another aspect of the industry that is regrettably nowhere to be seen are the unions, perhaps the element of the industry that would benefit most from having a blog to educate members and potential members of their organizations.

Wouldn’t it be great if someone from AFTRA, SAG, ACTRA, Equity, or any other union was blogging in effort to dispel myths and answer frequently asked questions about their union via a blog? People would be more informed and would likely join such unions more decidedly if more information was presented before having to make a commitment.

If everyone in this industry was blogging, or at least representatives for every aspect of the industry, there would be less confusion, more lines of open communication, and further development and unification of the voice industry as a whole. If the entire industry was blogging, it would be seen as an industry, not as a fragmented piece of the larger entertainment fold. Technology has done much to improve the business of voice overs over the years and blogging is another way for us to use technology to our advantage.

Now, for some objection handling:

If I blog and give away my knowledge, what’s to stop others from passing it off as their own?

Stop right there! Sharing your knowledge is not giving others carte blanche to plagiarize your work. Etiquette in blogging is pretty strict. People who reference a work or source will note it in their post with a text link back to where they found the information.

If I give away too much information, people will never buy my product or service.

The opposite is true. By presenting useful information to your audience, you build trust and authority. Smart consumers know who the real deal is, so if you’re providing quality content and ideas, they’ll be coming to you to get the job done.

Only writers and journalists are allowed to publish material.

Have you ever heard of citizen reporters and citizen journalism? Every day, regular people take the time to report on what they see. Citizen reporters and bloggers were instrumental in getting the word out in times of natural disaster (re: Hurricane Katrina or Tsunamis) and give a voice to stories that often are not picked up by larger media bodies.

More and more, traditional journalists, writers, newscasters and even courts of law are relying on content created by educated people or and those with exclusive information that was not covered by local news.

I hope I’ve given you some inspiration and motivation to start blogging!

Blogging For Profit Begins With A Long Term Plan

Many people dream of blogging for profit, and this goal is not far beyond the reach of someone with average intelligence, a willingness to work hard, and a basic grasp of blogging technology.

However, very few people manage to reap the profits they want from their blog. Most people who attempt tomake money with their blogs do not succeed for two reasons. Often, bloggers have unrealistic expectations of how fast their readership will grow and how much money they will make, and when these expectations are not met the disappointment can crush the desire to continue blogging.

The other trap that many bloggers fall into has to do with lack of planning. If you want to turn a profit as a blogger, the key to success is to make a realistic plan and stick with it.

To succeed at blogging for profit, the main thing that you will need is a large readership. The higher your traffic, the more advertisers will agree to pay you. However, cultivating the regular visitors that you will need in order to make a profit isnt easy.

As more and more blogs appear each day, having a great idea or a wonderfulwriting style is no longer enough to get attention. You need to be able to market your blog effectively.

Too many bloggers spend all of their time writing posts and almost no time marketing their project. To be certain, updating as often as you can is a great way to keep your blog high on blogrolls and high in blog search engines like technorati, and once your readers know that you update frequently they will return to your site on a regular basis.

However, it does not matter how often you update if nobody is reading your page, so don’t skimp on the time that you spend drawing visitors to your site. To make your dreams of blogging for profit a reality, try decreasing your number of posts and using
some of that time to draw new visitors by setting up link exchanges with other bloggers, making contacts in the blog community, and following other established modes of winning traffic.

Of course, even if you are a marketing genius or have a really great idea for a blog, success is not going to happen overnight. Building the kind of readership that blogging for profit requires takes time, and in all likelihood it will be at least several months before you are able to turn much of a profit.

Try to stay committed to your blogging project during this initial rough period. To stay motivated, set goals for how often you will update and how many readers you want to attract, and then reward yourself for sticking with your plan.

The Scoop On MySpace

Myspace is an internet site for social interaction that seems to have taken on a life of its own. This website is the six most popular internet site in the world, and the third top ranking site in the United States. More than 100 million people have signed up to become a member of this well known internet sitebecause it offers so many great features. You can interact with your friends, meet new people, and post your own blog. The site also allows you to download music, videos, and photos. MySpace is available in 15 different languages.

Besides the sheer numbers of people who visit MySpace daily, it does offer some great features that many people find useful. You can design your My Friends section and then send messages to the entire group rather than individually. You can also post information on the bulletin board for all to read. There are also pages for users who share a common interest to hang out and talk about it. Probably the most used feature at MySpace is the Instant Messenger. This allows people to talk back and forth instantly rather than responding to an email.

While people of all ages are welcome at MySpace, most of the online profiles belong to teenagers and young adults. The minimum age for an account is 14. This has led to some concerns though due to adults surfing MySpace as predators looking for unsuspecting younger males and females. It is important that you know where your child is visiting on the internet and that they do not disclose personal information such as their address on their MySpace profile. Used safely, MySpace offers a great place for online interaction to take place.

Another reason individuals need to be very cautious when they use MySpaceis because it has been found to contain various types of spyware. This has lead to a great deal of phishing to lure internet users into handing out their personal information to scam artists. This is done by sending an email that appears to be from MySpace asking for log in information. If you receive such emails, don’t respond. Instead, contact MySpace directly.

Identify theft has increased in recently years, and a great deal of the information that has been taken is being linked back to MySpace. This internet site has taken this information and is working hard to ensure everyone using the site is safe and secure. They are also doing all they can to prevent phishing and identify theft by informing new users about the potential risk before they can sign up.

Blogging - The New Home Business Model

Blogging, a form of online journaling, has become one of the most common activities for internet users in the 21st century. In fact, more people publish or read a blog each day than read a newspaper. It’s only natural that there would be an increase in the number of people using blogging to make an income. With companies like Blogger and BlogToolKit, almost anyone can publish their own blog in minutes and start making money online.

But how does a blogger go from making 10 or 20 cents a month in ad clicks to over 6 figures a year? Is there something special that millionaire bloggers have that most people do not?

Simply put, the answer is yes. Profitable Bloggers have something that most other people do not. In order for a blogger to make any money at all they need:

1. to get noticed.
2. provide something interesting to read
3. provide an incentive for the reader to come back

When looked at it from this point of view, a successful blog has the same qualities as a successful website. In fact, the only difference is that a website usually has a product that they are trying to sell, whereas a blog simply provides something interesting to read.

Let’s take a look at each of the requirements for a successful blog.

Standing out among millions:
Getting a blog noticed is not all that difficult. There are hundreds of ways to spread the word about your blog and attract readers, the simplest of which is telling friends and families about it.

Think back to a recent email that a friend or family member sent you that had a funny story or link to a popular short video. The person that sent it to you found it interesting enough to forward it to you. Chances are that you found it interesting and shared it with your friends as well. We all get emails like this and we all share them. It’s called viral marketing and if you can master it, you will be rich!

The first step is to share your blog. Send an email to all of your friends and family with a link to your blog imbedded in the email. Ask them to check it out, add it to their favorite’s folder or homepage, and share it with their friends and family.

Don’t bore your readers:
Much like the uncle or grandfather that goes on and on about something only they are interested in, no one else wants to read you going on and on about irrelevant things in your life. No one wants to hear what you ate for breakfast or that your imbedded toenail infection is starting to clear up. Write about something specific and something interesting.

There are literally millions of topics that you can choose from. The more unique and on-topic your blog is, the more popular it will become. Let’s look at a blog on pets as an example. You can easily start a blog on your favorite type of pet. Anyone could do it and it’s easy to include links or news stories about pets that would attract readers. But, ask yourself this; is anyone passionate about pets? More often than not, a reader will be passionate and interested about a specific topic and if your blog is generic you will never make a dime. Now, what if the same blog was about German Shepherd dogs. It’s much more targeted and interesting to the reader that likes that breed of dog. The more interested that your reader is, the better chance you have that they will come back and share your blog with others.

Keep them hanging:
Attracting readers and providing something interesting to read is all well and good. But, the big bucks will not happen unless you get your readers to come back again and again. Writing a cliffhanger or some subtle foreshadowing will ensure that your readers bookmark your blog and come back. If you make sure that you update your blog daily and give an incentive for the reader to come back you cannot fail. As your repeat readers increase, so does the likelihood that they will click on an ad, thus increasing your profits.

The Bad Side of Blogging

There are millions of blogs online today and everyone is practically tripping over each other to start their own. My question is why?

You can answer that in word. Money! People think blogging is the magic bullet they have been missing to make money for the first time in their life. The other thing is blogs are so simple to start that a child of 10 could do it.

Of course after a few days the new blogger begins to realize that the money is not flowing in and this is going to become work. They sure are spending a lot of time working on their new blog and they have not made one penny off of it yet.

This is the bad side of blogging. It takes a lot of work to get traffic to your blog and it takes even more work to convert some of that into a paying customer.

If you value your time you lose money every time you set down and post in your blog. Let’s say you spend 30 minutes writing a 400-word blog post and you do that everyday for 1 month. You have just spent 15 hours and you may not have even made any money yet.

That’s the rub right there. First of all most people will never write 30 posts in the first month or maybe ever. The Internet is cluttered with blogs that were started with good intentions and abandoned like an orphan.

Someone should start a blog orphanage for abandoned blogs that we could adopt and offer tender loving care to. The bad side of blogging is you may be the next victim of “blogging is work” syndrome. Another blog started and abandoned because blogging is work and is not the easy road to riches you hoped it was.

A really good blog is one that is started by someone who would keep it up if they never made any money at it. The reasons for this are that the topic of the blog is a passion for the blogger. They have an interest in the subject matter. They may even be an expert in what they write about and their expertise shows.

The reader comes back over and over to see what the blogger will say next. They pull out their credit card to buy a product the blogger recommends. They click on a Google ad or subscribe to a newsletter. It is all so easy when the blog is kept up to date with useful information. The blogger has avoided the bad side of blogging.

Try to update the blog as if it were a daily journal and be sure to include a good amount of keyword-based content. Post links to sites you engage back linking with along side relative content pertaining to the services and products you offer. Never skimp on information simply because you don’t think the consumer wants to hear it. All content regarding your product or services becomes necessary when writing aniche marketing blog.

Niche marketing blogs contain heavy content regarding a business’s products or services. Search engines, such as Google or Yahoo, user crawlers to inspect websites and relay statistical analysis on keywords or content most often found relating to words the user input for their search criteria. The search results provide ranking for websites found to have the most common related data. The more content a site contains about a niche marketing product or service, the higher a search engine posts the website in its rank. Thus, creating and maintaining a blog regarding a niche market becomes a well loved, association by search engines.
